Nick Miller Throws His Weight Around

Nick Miller Oklahoma State

Many of you may be familiar with a distance oriented Border Harrier competing for Oklahoma State, namely Tom Farrell*. But there’s another. Hammer thrower, Nick Miller, swapped the orange Border vest for the orange of OK State this fall and things seem to be going pretty well for him to date.

Last weekend was the calm before the NCAA storm and we didn’t publish all weekly results. In doing that, we missed Miller’s 72.80 throw (6kg) at the low-key Tulsa Duels meet. This throw was good to enough to bag the World Junior Qualification standard (71.00m) to be held in Barcelona in mid-July.

It also catapulted him to 3rd in the GB&NI Junior All-time lists. His recent mark at the Texas Relays of 65.09 with the 7kg weight ranks him fourth nationally, and first in the Big12.

There’s something in the water in Carlisle and Stillwater. When’s the next Border-OSU recruit going to appear?

*Tom Farrell is quicker than his dad David over his specialist event.
