Regional results day 2 - USA Athletics Scholarships

Regional results day 2

Another successful day for the British and Irish contingent as five more athletes punched their tickets to Eugene. On a rain interrupted second day in Austin , mention has to be given to the Okoro twins, with both producing near PB performances to qualify in the 400h (Ese) and 800 (Ejiro) respectively.

Stats from day two included

  • 5 athletes advance to the NCAA Championships (Lieghio, Cotter, Okoro*2, Seddon)
  • 1 athlete qualify to the next round of the preliminary meet (Alaka)
  • 6 athletes failed to qualify and end their collegiate season

Tonight sees the conclusion of both preliminary meets. Whilst we are well represented across a range of events, there will be large contingents to look out for in both the men’s and women’s 1500m and 5000m.
