NCAA Day 3 round up

Hayward-Field

Only three British and Irish athletes competed on day three of the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Tomas Cotter ended his Wichita State career by finishing 9th in the men’s steeplechase. In a race dominated by Kenyans, his time of 8:45.10 compared well to what he has been running all season. After Nick Miller and Breandan O’Neil’s 9th placers on Thursday, Cotter becomes the third domestic athlete of the meet to miss the All-American spots by one position.

Competing in the women’s 5000m, Elinor Kirk (UAB) and Katie Clark (Butler) struggled to replicate their earlier season in the event, finishing in 19th and 23rd respectively.

With day 3 complete, we head into the final day of the collegiate season with just Mitch Goose and Luke Caldwel leftl flying the flag in the men’s 5000m.
