Weekend XC results

The cobwebs that many athletes may have developed over the summer can now start to be blown away, as things are steadily getting going with the 2015 NCAA cross country season. Whilst the business end of the regular season is still some weeks away, the vast majority of teams use the early September meets to get some race practice in, try new tactics, and assess how the athletes are responding.

Highlights of the weekend included wins from Tom Purnell (Harvard) and Elizabeth Bird (Princeton), both of whom were competing at the Harvard-Yale-Princeton meeting in Boston. Elsewhere, Zac Randall (Oklahoma), Rosie Hiles (Bradley), and Laura Gibson (McPherson College) all recorded top three finishes at various meets around the US.

There were plenty of new athletes and schools appearing on our results radar for the first time, an early positive sign that more coaches than ever before are looking to recruit British athletes.

We expect several more low-key weekends like this one before the season truly kicks off in October.

Results are below, at this stage no Irish are included, these will be updated as we find out who is competing this season.
