As athletes who have been through both the US and UK university systems, we often get asked questions like:
These are all common and overly generalised questions. Detailed answers to these questions form the substance of this site.
Whilst the concept of British athletes heading across the Atlantic to pursue an athletic scholarship is nothing new, what is changing is the financial cost of going to university in the UK. With university tuition fees in the UK looking set to rise to £9,000 per year, a US scholarship could become something that more British athletes may wish to consider.
Heading stateside for university is currently, and will continue to be, a hot topic, constantly brought up on message boards, written about on the internet, and talked about amongst athletes at training. Whilst these resources can be useful for finding out the basics, we were in agreement that there lacked a source where athletes can find truly accurate and useful information; information that could be used to assist athletes in making informed decisions on what is right for them.
With this thought in mind, we have decided to share our knowledge and experiences of both university systems by bringing you this website. The aim of the site is to cover as many areas as possible that could be a factor in the university decision making process, be it through articles, interviews, or video format. If we have left anything out that you want to know more about then feel free to let us know and we will try to cover it!
If you have any questions or would like advice then feel free to email us and we will get back to you ASAP.
Thanks for visiting the site.
